Honoo No Messenger: Prologue by ~sparklingdmnd:iconsparklingdmnd:

“Atashi honoo no messenger! Atashi honoo no messenger!” (I am the messenger of flame.)

-Honoo No Messenger (Sera Myu: Super Musical Revue)

A/N: Thanks for giving this one a chance, I’m going to go ahead and say that first. Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it. This is not your typical Ronin Warriors story, but I hope those that love the original love this interpretation as well. It’s an AU, but you’ll find that the characters are much the same as they originally were.

Summary: What would the battle against Talpa had been like had he disturbed time and space when scattering the Ronin Warriors and brought three female Ronin counterparts into the battle? Would Talpa have won or would these alternate universe Ronins pose the biggest threat that the Dynasty had ever faced?

Give it a chance. You just might like it!

Prologue: Flare Up Now

“Armor of Wildfire! Dao jin!” Ryo Sanada screamed with all his might as he clasped his fists together, relishing in the energy that surrounded him.

Red light erupted from his fist and his hair blew back from his face from the force of the energy. Colorful scrolls rose up all around him, shielding the teenage warrior from view. In a shower of cherry blossoms, he rose up from behind the scrolls encased in fire red armor about his torso. He reached up into the air and gathered a fist full of the cherry blossoms, a double horned helmet materializing from the small petals. Ryo took the helmet with both hands and placed it down upon his head, shielding his dark mane from view. With the donning of his helmet, the transformation was complete and he pulled two blue and gold hilted katanas from the sheath on his back.

Behind him, his four comrades stood with their weapons drawn, fully prepared to back their leader up. Cye of the Torrent, Sage of the Halo, Rowen of the Strata, and Kento of Hardrock had completed their transformation along side of Ryo and awaited his command.

The Ronin Warriors had come to arms.

A heavily armed man stood several feet from the Ronin leader, a sneer upon what was visible of his face. His dark armor was given a small amount of color by the sleeveless cloak he wore over it. It was brown and trimmed in gold along the arm openings. Small hints of blue were visible on parts of his armor, mainly on his arms and legs. His head was covered by a single horned helmet, with a blood red face plate obscuring his face from view. Teal eyes glittered with malice and small amount of humor from inside the hideous helmet. He sneered at the Ronin leader and gripped his weapon, a kusari-gama tightly in his right hand.

“Oh good, I was hoping for a challenge.” He taunted.

Ryo gritted his teeth, preparing himself for the battle that was about to take place. He and his fellow Ronins had been battered mere moments ago in battle as they attempted to protect the two civilians that were accompanying them on their mission. A college professor, Mia Koji, and a small boy named Yuli. The Ronins had combined their armor powers to form the Circle of Light, which formed a force field around the two unarmed humans. Without their armor the sneering owner of the kusari-gama, also known as Anubis, Dark Warlord of Cruelty, had nearly beaten them to death. The Ronins were fighting against Anubis and his master, Talpa, the emperor of the Nether Realm to protect the Earth from his impending invasion. Much to the Ronins’ surprise, a golden staff landed in the center of the Circle, breaking it and sending the power of the armor back to the Ronins. The staff protected Mia and Yuli in place of the Circle, allowing the Ronin Warriors to come to arms to battle against Anubis.

Ryo, the leader of the Ronins and bearer of the Wildfire armor, gripped his katanas tightly as he faced the older warrior in front of him.

“Demon, I will never allow you or your master to win!” He shouted.

Anubis’ sneer deepened as he drew back his arm to launch his weapon at the youth before him.

“We shall see about that Wildfire.” He growled before projecting the blade towards the Ronin’s throat.

Parallel Universe

“Damn she’s quick, I better watch it.” Rya Sanada thought as she dodged the attack of the Warlord of Cruelty.

Rya kicked off of a nearby lamppost and hurtled herself towards her enemy. When the kusari-gama was launched at her, she used her katanas to deflect the blow, sending the chain rattling back towards its’ master.

“Come on Alexis. You’re going to have to do better than that to win this fight!” Rya called, earning herself an angry growl from the lady Warlord.

Rya turned to see her fellow Ronins engaging the Warlord in battle. Faith Mouri, bearer of the Armor of Torrent came up beside her friend and leader.

“Let’s take her out.” She said with a grin, her British accent causing Rya to grin as well.

“Your attempts are pointless and pathetic!” Alexis cried as she began swinging her kusari-gama high above her head.

Sagira “Sage” Date, bearer of the Armor of Halo, charged towards Alexis, swinging her Halo sword with all of her might, narrowly missing the Warlord as she jumped out of the way.

Rowan Hashiba, owner of the Armor of Strata, pulled back on her bow, aiming a golden arrow at Alexis.

“Let’s see if I can get my point across!” She shouted, releasing the arrow.

Alexis anticipated the move and leapt high in the air to dodge the golden streak of light. She took to the skies as she began launching herself off of buildings in an attempt to reach the rooftop of a skyscraper. Rya narrowed her eyes and took off after the Warlord. Alexis caught sight of Wildfire over her shoulder and shot her a nasty look.

“You will be the first to meet your end.” She growled as she reached the rooftop. Rya landed shortly after her and prepared to attack again.

Alexis wasted no time leaping into the air to release her sure-kill onto the Ronin leader. Rya braced herself for the attack, and fit the ends of her katanas together.

‘I can’t lose this battle. Wildfire! Give me the strength I need!’ She screamed internally.

“Quake With Fear!” Alexis shrieked as she launched her weapon at Rya, successfully trapping the girl in her chains.

Rya grit her teeth as the energy from Alexis’ attack consumed her. ‘I have to fight. I can’t lose this!’ Her mind screamed. She forced her eyes open through the pain and found the strength to leap up into the air, the chains still wrapped around her form. White light erupted from the ends of her sword as she called forth her own attack.

“Flare Up…”

“Now!” Ryo cried as the energy from his attack blasted through Anubis’ chains. The Warlord faltered backwards and Ryo was released from his hold, landing a few feet behind Anubis, one katana in his hand and the other landing nearby.

Anubis growled as he nursed the gash that Ryo’s attack had formed in his armor. His eyes narrowed dangerously.

“You will pay for striking that blow against me boy.”

“Ryo! You okay?”

Ryo looked up with dazed eyes as the other Ronins landed on the rooftop surrounding the Warlord. Ryo swayed for a moment and the fatigue from using such a new power took its’ toll upon him. He let out a groan as he fell to the ground.

“Ryo!” Rowen called out.

Strata turned and faced Anubis.

“You’re gonna pay for that.” He growled.

Sage gripped his sword tightly in his hand.

“Prepare yourself!” He bellowed.

Inside the castle, Emperor Talpa surveyed Anubis’ battle with the Ronins. He had grown tense as he watched Ryo released the Wildfire sure-kill onto his Warlord. No, they were too strong. The Ronin Warriors were a force to be reckoned with if they remained together. He could see the power pouring off of each Ronin in waves as they prepared to strike Anubis.

“The Circle remains unbroken.” His disembodied voice bellowed. He would not allow this to happen. Not when he was so close to conquering this planet.

“They each hold an equal share of the circle’s force but I will not give them the chance to use it against me!” He cried, his eyes flashing a blood red.

The winds swept up all around the city of Toyama, creating a massive tornado over the building where the Ronins stood. The powerful element proceeded to suck up the helpless Ronins inside its funnel.

Little did Talpa know that his parallel universe counterpart, Empress Talia, at that very moment was scattering the Ronin Warriors of her dimension across the globe. Too much energy used for the same purpose at the same time can have unusual effects to say the least.

As Talia and Talpa picked up the ten male and female Ronin Warriors, a disturbance in time was made, as too much dark energy was being used at one time. Time and space shifted, and three male Ronins were hurtled into Talia’s alternate dimension, while their three female counterparts were thrown into Talpa’s.

Rya Sanada was cast into Mt. Fuji, Sagira Date into the Pennacles, Faith Mouri into the Sea of Toyama, Kento Rei Faun inside of Mt. Dojo, and Rowen Hashiba orbiting the Earth in space.

This small fact was not made aware to Emperor Talpa or any of his dark Warlords, nor Mia and Yuli as they set out to find whom they presumed to be Ryo waiting inside of the violent volcano. One could only imagine the surprise that Mia and Yuli would have when they discovered that a female was resting inside the Armor of Wildfire.
